I do agree that tiktok and YouTube are spreading a lot of misinformation and stuff, even as a minor who has youtube. (I make edits of pjo, Kotlc ect).
I think that if someone sees a video of therians and starts to wonder, than they should do more research and actually know what it is before calling themself one, and not twist the defenition to what they want it to be.
I Tbh I just use Tiktok to watch my Irl friend and favourite k-pop idol's videos, nothing else.

RE: What Makes You Believe /You/ Are Therian? |

I feel like that my theriothropy comes from being introduced to nature at a very young age, which makes nature have a special part in my heart. As a kid, I went to a unique school that focused a lot on nature and teaching kids about it, and I was encouraged to roll around in mud and generally be a weirdo.
Thing is, when I transferred to public school, I had realized that the connection I had to nature had been something I took for granted, and didn't fully appreciate it. I felt lonely without trees always surrounding me. I hated being with large groups of kids who talked weirdly and smelled like chemicals, and being forced into tiny, brick walled classrooms.
I feel like theriothropy is something that helps soothe the loneliness I felt and feel, and it gives me peace of mind to know that I will always be part of nature, despite trying to use toilets that were covered in vandalism and dealing with people constantly telling me my handwriting is chicken scratch

Same! Cats are most definitely not jerks, I hate that stereotype.
I also hate the myth that all housecats are aloof and don't show affection. It's simply not true!
Usually, people who say that are around cats either the cats ignore them, hear from their friends/fam that they are aloof or don't understand cats.
I believe that cats can show affection, my cat Bud-Bud (Buddy) does. He may hesitate at first but after a few minutes, he shows his real side which is quite cuddly. Unless you happen to be an old lady petting him while Jay holds him (Bud-Bud peed all over Jay when that happened. XD), lol.
But yeah, totally a myth.

i personally think that tw/cw's are important. a lot of people have ptsd about things. i think that it is super important to put tw/cw's on self harm, suicide, and assault topics, but i also think that people should put cw/tw's on things such as blood, gore, bats, racism, homophobia, and transphobia. i also think that there should be safe spaces for people with intense ptsd where they have to put a tw/cw on everything, but those should'nt be the whole internet.

Yes! Cats absolutely do show affection. Every cat my family has ever had has been really sweet. Just have to understand them. The body language cats and dogs use is different and some people don't seem to get that. I have made friends with my parents cat who is notorious in their house for being "bitey". He gives clear warnings that he is done being pet or doesn't like something. But he also has been sleeping on me when I am in the chair downstairs, and sleeps in my parents bed with them every night.

RE: Regarding the pups and adults |

Thank you for your perspective, Dusty. I myself am a pup, only joining 3 weeks ago. I have noticed the overflooding of the shoutbox about the unrelated topic to therianthropy. I'm guilty of it too. I've started conversations like that. Usually, when an adult redirects us, I try not to go back to the topic we were talking about. I'm sorry if any conversation I started or took part in made anyone uncomfortable.
Sincerely,
Sunny
