I think similarly. I doubt I'd be therian if I wasn't neurodivergent, and that used to bother me, but it's not like I'm not going to be neurodivergent one day, it's just how my brain is.

Ok, some parts of this post kind of itched me the wrong way... like yeah, a lot of people on social media do quads, that's what gets views, and for some people, it's fun. I feel that part on this post was a bit... weirdly worded? So with your wording, it kind of says that all therians on there are fake, when a lot of people do a species dysphoria. As a therian who has an acc on YouTube with a friend we do mostly quads on there, or that's our plan.
Yeah, most therians on tik tok and stuff like that are fake, I've seen it myself, but this makes me personally feel kind of attacked with your wording. You don't have to do quads, and with some saying "oh you don't need gear to be a therian" they use gear because they have it, most have it. A lot of it is they also don't want to show their face too, that's why they have masks sometimes. Other from that I agree with almost everything thus says, but for me it's how much hate there is on there. Like SSSniperwolf and this one podcast lady that does political videos

But yeah that's kind of my input on this topic- pls dont get mad at me, I'm just inputting how I feel because not all therians on tik tok are bad-

Hey, this is what I think.

Ive always acted bird and dog-like. It soothing to me, plus the longing to be something other than human is there. Its no secret to me and the people who interact with me that I am neurodivergent. And thats what I think therianthropy is, a wiring of the brain. I think my brain developed differently, and now, I act the way I do.
Honestly thats all I can really say on this subject, because thats all it is for me x3

My most crazy theory which I don't really have any evidence for and don't really believe it either but the theory is that all the therians, after death, get sent up to basically theriotype heaven where we basically just frolic around in fields or wherever the theriotype lives; there's no sadness or prey drive as well. I'm not completely sure what would happen with polytherians tho, I guess they would have to go with their most dominant theriotype. I think I made this up as a coping mechanism as well (to deal with the fear of death and species dysphoria in particular) so please don't take this seriously at all lol

i just wanted to invite discusion about these theories: i believe that there could be multiple theories. past lives are something i think about a lot, they might be part of the eqasion. but i also think that there are probly other universes. worlds that we should have been born into where we are our animals. i think therianthropy can be a coping mecanism, but definatley isnt always. one last thing i think about is the contract of souls. we signed what we wanted to be as our souls before we where born, but our contracts got lost. we acsidentally came out as humans. we still feel like animals tho. what are your theories?

I'm happy you addressed this, Dusty. While I seem to flicker in and out of existence at times (mostly due to stress and what not) there were a couple of times during the last few months where it was uncomfortable to be here. I love you all, all of the friends I made since coming here, and I know how important this kind of environment is for younger therians, but it was getting a bit out of hand.

I also agree that YouTube and various social media sites are harmful. They (as Rain said above) are spreading misinformation, but they are also confusing new therians and otherkin. I feel like a large chunk of therians on youtube simply state they are therian for attention, and often say that "gear makes you a therian," blah blah blah.
So if your someone whose trying to clarify things up about theriothropy, dont rely on social media. Instead, ask people who you know are therians or know some about them, or ask here.
