I have to agree with @Hemlock that this feels like a rebranded version of "God did it". To support your theory, you could explain how the Hidden differs from other deities like the Christian god and explain more nuance. Is the Hidden equivalent to an omnipotent god, or is it in charge of a more specific area? This basically requires a long in-depth explanation of your religious system or else we lack context for what you're saying. Also, how does this theory accommodate people who claim to have BOTH an animal and human soul, come from other universes, or have unique/fictional kintypes? Why would a higher being make those things up for people to experience?

EDIT: I see now you addressed fictionkin. Still though, is the Hidden all-knowing or did it mistakenly place us into the wrong body? How is it possible for it to get confused?

God is a god - He is an all-powerful, all-knowing being.
The Hidden isn’t a god: they aren’t worshipped and believed in around the world.
The Hidden is the Hidden - I don’t really know how else to put it tbh.

I’m sorry if u disagree with my thoughts - I’ve already said this may not be the most accurate theory in the world as I just typed it out as the idea came to me, so I’m sorry if this doesn’t make sense to you, you can choose to ignore it and go about your day and if you think it’s a “God did it” theory.
It isn’t a “God did it” theory to me as the Hidden isn’t a god and isn’t from a religion - they are just a theory atm!

Also what do you mean by my “religious system”?

Bc they are the Hidden and they do whatever the hell they want whenever and whatever.

Edit: they are all-knowing in a way as they know what will happen (I see I probably should’ve used all-seeing instead of all-knowing, sorry for the confusion) and it can make mistakes bc we have in theory this community. Sorry for the mixup there!

It doesn't matter if you say that "the Hidden" isn't a god. It doesn't matter if anybody worships the Hidden. You are describing an entity that would hold a major amount of power, and you said that they would know everything in advance. Whether you like it or not, you described a god and contradicted yourself.

The terms thing was a general thing to anyone who had replied was reading/had read the thread - it wasn’t necessarily directed at you, it was a general thing.

I assumed that the Hidden was something that you had been thinking about for quite some time and tied into your personal belief system, not that you came up with it on the spot.

I'm noticing that a lot of your replies are pretty defensive. You posted a theory with quite a bit of holes on a public forum, so people are going to reply with questions. I understand as a pup that's new to the forum, everything is very exciting and you might be tempted to post whatever comes to mind. Maybe in the future, if you have an idea, you could run it by shoutbox and get others' opinions. It comes off as bad taste to post such a broad theory and assert it as truth without deep thought.

I’m sorry that my replies have come across as defensive - I was being told I was copying/rebranding the whole “God did it” theory and that it was holey, and yes as someone new to the community I am going to be excited as you put it by the concept of the forums and maybe a bit more sensitive to criticism.

An entity/being is an umbrella term for a conscious existence. Perhaps your Hidden would be better referred to as a force, wouldn't it be for your insistence that he's a sentient something that takes purposeful actions.

A God is generally a term for highly powerful beings, regardless of how present their worship is in the current world. The Christian god is no more or less a God than Thor, Dana, or Cernunnos.

Also, I want to be transparent that I'm challenging you as much as everyone else in this thread, my questions are posed to question your proposed logistics, not entertain them.

Aspen, if you're going to propose a theory for something like therianthropy, at least think it over instead of making it up as you go, and if you ARE going to fabricate everything you're saying, make it clear that that's what you're doing.
