I'm usually skeptical about these types of posts, but what you say sounds legit. Moved it to a more appropriate forum, where it'll get more attention.

Perhaps it will do some good for people to hear it coming from someone closer to their age. Smile

Thankfully TG is easy enough to find just using Google these days, one can hope we are one of the young therians' first experiences with a therian community (I've also advocated for a "TG kindergarten" for therians younger than 13, but it's not currently feasible).

I love the idea of a TG "Kindergarten," maybe it'd lead to less misinfo spreading around... it'd also be nice to give pups and kits under the age of 13 their own space Smile

I have a bad feeling that it'd become hard to manage, and a raging wildfire of misinfo of its own. All the nine-year-olds would come onto the hypothetical site and start blabbing about how therianthropy is only a past life and how you "need" to do quads...
I dunno, it just doesn't seem like an incredible idea to me.

that's the good thing... since it will be a moderated forum the misinformation and misconceptions can be squashed... I really hope this kind of thing can be done, that would be terrific! we wouldn't have to take care of so many kids who are under 13.

Seconding this, I hope it'll become possible in the near future!

I love this idea, but wouldn't COPPA somehow prevent this from becoming real?

  RE: Opinions on Quadrobics?
Posted in: Introduction to Therianthropy Posted by: FernFox - 2024-03-13 7:18

I think it's somewhat telling that the vast majority of those who are strongly in favour of quads are under 18.

On its own, quadrobics are fine. It's a form of exercise. But it rubs me the wrong way when quads are connected to therianthropy as it feels performative.

Therian influencers have made it the trendy, consumable, 'tasteful' way to express your therianthropy online and in public-- and for that reason I really don't like it. Every day at least one pup in the shoutbox will talk about how they're going off to do quads, have hurt themselves doing quads, or something similar; it's almost like they feel obligated to bring focus to this specific form of exercise because it's been so associated with therianthropy. Which in turn, makes it seem more performative than genuine.

As a disclaimer, I'm not knocking anyone who genuinely enjoys it or finds it fun/helpful or whatever. Do what makes you happy, live your truth! But the fact that quads have become such a big thing -- a big talking point -- and something so intertwined with the public perception of therianthropy, is the reason I don't like or promote them.

I'm all for quads as a fun sport. I do it myself!

Ooh I love running and jumping! I find myself running down the hall when I’m really exited. Smile

What about you?

I think quadrobics are cool, although probably not for everyone. It didn't help me with finding my theiotypes, but it is helping me work towards keeping my asthma down, and getting the exercise I need, and quads are fun to do. It also helps me tire down before bed.

I do enjoy quadrobics sometimes. I used to practice it every day or every other day which really built up my muscles to be good with it, but now I just do it if I'm having a mental shift and I'm in a safe environment (woods, basement, room, etc) or if I'm bored. I'd say I only really actually practice it once or twice a month, but I do run across my room on all fours if I don't feel like standing up, and I go up the stairs on all fours. So, in short, I engage in quadrobics daily but only for about a few minutes each day. I enjoy quadrobics, but when I get tired or can't keep my head up in the right position it makes me a little dysphoric because it's just proving to me how much I am not actually an animal and never will be.

I don't like the "only therians do quads" culture around it but quads is very important to me because [vent warning] last year my coaches made me do a bunch of running without a hoodie in front of a lot of people and exercise after not doing any for a few years so that fucked up my feelings towards exercise so noe the only physical activity I enjoy is quads and archery.

Oh my gosh, I can't believe they did that to you.. I would be traumatized as well.
