I think some people could get it confused with not being comfortable with a human name and they want a name that is more like a name you'd give to a pet. But I agree it's unhealthy to make it seperate from yourself

There's also the thermal factor. Humans are exothermic lifeforms; 50-80% of the calories we use maintain our basic metabolism, which includes generating heat. If I pick a midpoint of that range (65%), and assume half of that (32%) is used to generate heat, then work out how many calories that would be from Coffeebear's total, I get 803 million.

A calorie's definition is the amount of energy required to raise one gram of water by 1°C. That energy, used in an instantaneous transformation, would (ignoring bone matter) raise the body temperature of our 200lb test subject by more than 10K°C; that's hotter than the surface of the sun.

Based on that, I can put forward the hypothesis that the 1908 Tunguska explosion wasn't caused by a meteor, or a crashing alien spaceship, but by a pack of PSing Russian Werewolves. :P

I do see my theriotypes as part of my being. Since I'm on the mental side as well I see no point in naming them.

But if others want to do that or experience their therianthropy/otherkinity differently that should be okay.

i support and don't support tws honestly.
I had a friend who knew someone who wanted 'socks' tagged which is clearly a joke or they're telling themselves that triggers them when it doesn't.
I do think certain things like blood/gore should be mentioned if its in the picture you're sending though and if you're reading an online fanfiction or something, the author should mention beforehand if the story includes topics like self-harm, drugs, or something that may genuinely trigger someone. Of course actual books and authors don't need these warnings, as topics like that can be anywhere, that's how it is in mature books.
Then again, if you're triggered by something so much it genuinely hurts you then maaybe you shouldn't be on the internet at all.

You do what you want to do. If you wanna name your theriotype, go ahead, if you don't that's fine too. People shouldn't be frowned upon for it. I don't want to name my theriotypes but if that's the way that other people feel comfortable who are we to challenge them?

this just seems like a mean thing to say because for a lot of people who had names in their past life use it as a way to keep all of their lives in order for organization, not because they're misinformed. -_-

I agree with a lot of what the others have said about tws/cws. For me, it actually causes as more harmful than good in a lot of senses. It makes me worried that something bad is going to come up. I would rather it just happen and if it's something that makes me uncomfortable I just don't look at it/listen to it. A lot of discord servers/communities that I'm in go overboard with the tw/cws. It's also concerning that the majority of them are anywhere between 13-15 years old. What I mean by that, it's sort of setting them up to think that the adult world will have tws everywhere when that's not true. I'm not saying that I don't have triggers, I'm just saying that stuff is going to catch up to you eventually. So there's not always going to be tws to protect you or warn you. Anyway, weird bird's talk over. Laugh Thank you for the psa Dust!

Tongue

For what it's worth all I did was post a summary of a conversation several members had on TG Discord yesterday.
