Yes, AHWW was the genesis of Modern Therianthropy, @Cuddles. I'm glad the link to the discussion thread worked. I've not linked to Google Groups before.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention @BearX . I've read through that conversation you provided and it's nice to see where this all began. Also, where is @AspenBlaze21, you gotta check this out. Read through that convo and you'll see why xD

I'm correct in saying that it began at AHWW right?

I've spend the day together with my mate. And stared at that full moon past night. There couldn't be a better way to celebrate this day then to be with my -very accepting- mate Heart

Happy therianthropy day everyone!

WOOF!
PD

Nice to see a thread about this! I actually knew about the celebration because of people 'round tumblr talking about making a pride day, and then some others reminded them of the already kind of set day.

I was off on a school trip to London yesterday, which I VERY much enjoyed! The best thing was probably this VR thing where you were flying/floating and I was shifting like crazy. Just gliding over the water, and around the tower, it felt so amazing!!!!

Anyhoot, I hope everyone else had a nice Therianthropy day ^v^

Thanks for sharing this information, BearX. I needed to go into work yesterday, and didn't have time to post anything. I had forgotten about the discussions for "International Werewolf Day" and didn't realize it had also been for November. That's good to know.

Otherkin day is usually July 9. That's when the term actually began to be used. https://frameacloud.tumblr.com/post/147145533459/otherkin-day

It's one of the reasons that it's important that we keep the community history alive. I keep seeing folks trying to create holidays on Tumblr, and it's like, "We already have one, and it is an important date in our history." It doesn't hijack Pride, or anything like that. It's just a day to remember our past, and to celebrate our diversity.

I don't know if there's one for Otherkin generally, but the two communities developed independently to start.

I didn't know there was a holiday until earlier tonight. That's so cool! I can see the full moon from my window too.
Happy therianthropy day everyone Smile
