Today marks the 27th anniversary of the "First Howl". Twenty-seven November full moons have passed since alt.horror.werewolves first got together to celebrate the things that make us therians, the things that unite us as a community, and the community itself.
This "First Howl" was a gathering in Ohio, primitive camping. (I was unfortunately unable to make it, although I did attend the second one.) It established some of the Howl traditions, such as a group meal, and having some item with signatures to remember folks by.
You can read a report by an AHWW member who attended the Howl. Have a click on this linky. It gives the flavor of the event.
So now, each November, on the full moon, we pause to remember that first gathering, and spare a thought for the community we've built together. There's no right way to celebrate it. No ritual. No cake. Just enjoy being part of this one community where our shared experiences and history matter.
The history is important, and it's marvelous that we've maintained a day to reflect on it.
Happy 2020 Therianthropy Day, everyone! We at TG hope that it is healthy and happy. Thank you all for being part of the community.
TG member @PinkDolphin made a video sharing clips of members of the community sharing their thoughts of today.

While the idea of a "Happy 2020" anything is a little difficult for me to wrap my mind around, I am pleased to read this. I did not know there was such an event, but I certainly support it. I have only been on this site for a few days, but I already feel so welcomed and understood. Thank you for taking the time to post this.
I certainly hope I can be a part of this one day... I love the history.
When the light is running low, and the shadows start to grow
And the places that you know seem like fantasy
There's a light inside your soul that's still shining in the cold
With the truth, the promise in our hearts
Don't forget, I'm with you in the dark.
This was super nice.
Thanks for all who have made it possible, it was a great reminder of how actually amazing it is to have access to a community of people who understand.
Feel free to delete this if I'm not supposed to share this here, but I made a video for Therianthropy day as well. Here are some words from me to the community, and I hope it inspires some!
