I just wanted to briefly convey my thoughts on Kinmunity's recent decision to close up shop.
While Kinmunity was founded by it's owner/admin as community to directly compete against Therian Guide, I'd like to recognize that it seemed to find it's own niche within the greater community in terms of being very accommodating and welcoming to many otherkin who called it home.
Any time the community loses a resource, even a poorly managed one, it's not a good thing. People wind up feeling displaced and they lose the essential ability to reach out and connect with others who share the same experiences and struggles that they do.
I know that Therian Guide is centered mainly around the experiences of therians but I want to highlight that we do have forums for otherkin and fictionkin and we welcome everyone with open arms that takes our experiences seriously and are respectful of our rules and our members.
Anyone who feels displaced or without a home or community due to KM's closing, on behalf of the staff and owners of Therian Guide, we hope you're able to find that sense of belonging and community, that sense of home somewhere. It may not be here, in our community, but our doors are open to you if you'd like to give us a try.
